SIM-only deals explained
By ClickAndPerk · updated 7 November 2026
A SIM-only plan gives you calls, texts and data without a new phone. It's usually the cheapest way to keep a phone you already own.
- Pick your data honestly. Check how much you used in recent months in your phone's settings. Most people need far less than unlimited.
- Watch the contract length. A cheap 24-month deal can cost more overall than a 12-month or rolling 30-day plan if you'd switch sooner.
- Check price rises. UK networks must show any yearly price rise in pounds and pence when you sign up, so look for it in the deal details.
- Check coverage at your home and work postcodes on the network's coverage checker.
- Keep your number: text PAC to 65075 for free to get your switching code, then give it to your new network.
Prices and offers change often. Always check the final price on the retailer's site. Some links on ClickAndPerk are affiliate links; see How we make money.
